Bitter Sweet

A playful contamination between the architecture of urban Berlin and a glorified fairytale of the feminine ideal.

The shoot takes it's inspiration from German women's magazines' depiction of women, specifically, how the female body and its desires are made easily consumable by being conveyed through visual metaphors of fruit. Grapefruits, strawberries, peaches - always something sweet and innocent. Therefore, the trail of lemon is layed out throughout this shoot, to show a way to female self discovery and -acceptance.  -. the The model is dressed in gowns, created from draped satin bedsheets; these intimate textiles are brought into the rough cityscape of Berlin, into the daylight, confronting the world with the woman - not the ideal.
